DEJONG breaks ground on facility in North Prešov
- DEJONG Slovakia has begun construction on a new facility in North Prešov’s CTPark
- DEJONG, a leading manufacturer and supplier of stainless-steel hot water tanks, will create new jobs and strengthen the local supply chain.
- The new manufacturing facility will support the company’s efforts to meet the increasing need for hot water storage tanks throughout Europe.
- DEJONG’s production in Prešov will have eventual capacity of 1 million tanks per year.
Prešov, Slovakia – Oct. 3, 2024 – DEJONG, operating as a stand-alone business unit within Rheem Global Water, has completed a comprehensive site selection process and chosen CTPark Prešov North as its new location. Construction has begun on the site, which in total comprises 43.5 hectares of land and a GLA of 200,000 sqm.
Plant Manager of DEJONG Slovakia Lee Fletcher points out that DEJONG facility groundbreaking in North Prešov is a significant milestone on the journey to bring industrial innovations with a clear respect for Slovakian values and traditions. The company plans to create hundreds of jobs upon the completion of the new production plant, while the first hiring has begun and will continue in following months.
“DEJONG selected Eastern Slovakia because of its skilled and multi-lingual workforce, experienced builders, the presence of a well-developed rail and road infrastructure and strong support from the local government. We have invested heavily in this area and will continue to do so as we build our operations,” said Fletcher.

DEJONG has rented 33,068 sqm for the facility for a long-term lease from CTP group. DEJONG’s new manufacturing site at CTPark Prešov North, featuring 29,805 sqm of factory space and 3,263 sqm of office space, will serve as a strategically located hub to meet the growing demand for hot water tanks across Europe.

In recent months, DEJONG Slovakia has made significant steps to lay the foundation for its flagship facility. Prior to the groundbreaking, the design phase was completed and the plant management team has successfully been brought on board.
“We introduced our management team for key positions responsible for overseeing construction and future operations of DEJONG Slovakia. We remain on track to launch our facility by H1 2026. Recruitment for additional key roles is underway and we will strengthen our team in the coming months,” continued Fletcher. “The local communities have been welcoming and we are working closely with them to ensure a smooth integration and mutual support.”
DEJONG ‘s multi-phased expansion expects the first products to roll out in 2026. Since Rheem’s acquisition of DEJONG in 2022, the company has doubled production capacity and invested in long-term growth. A presence in Slovakia allows DEJONG to further extend its leadership in the European market.
