The increasing sustainability of the heating branch, from oil to gas to heat pump systems, is the wind beneath our wings. Our products contribute to energy-efficient solutions. Yet, we also want to manufacture the products themselves as responsibly as possible, in a CO2-neutral company. The Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) provides insight in the impact of the life stages of our products and helps us to make choices to contribute to the preservation of our planet.
We also invest in durable relationships. That is convenient for us as well as for our partners. They know they can rely on us. In the collaboration with our business partners we consciously select people and companies that have the same sustainability ambitions as we have, so we can join forces and build a better world together. Through optimal, long-term collaboration with our partners, we will ensure the best innovation and most sustainable solutions for everyone.
LIFE CYCLE
ANALYSIS (LCA)
Using a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) we investigated the impact of the different life stages of our products (stainless steel tanks, EPS insulation, PP jacket) on the environment and compared these with a competitor’s water tank (steel enameled tank, PUR insulation, galvanized steel jacket). From the selection of raw materials up to the recycling of discharged product and all stages in between. This analysis provides us with an understanding of which improvements will contribute most to making our products more sustainable. We pay a lot of attention to the post-treatment of the tank to further enhance the quality and, as such, the life cycle. We also look at the possible reuse of products and how to reduce the overall emission of our production processes.
CO2 NEUTRAL
COMPANY
At DEJONG, we look for the perfect fit in everything we do. This applies to the products we develop, our production processes, and our impact on the world around us. This is why we invest to reduce our carbon footprint and offset the residual CO2 emissions, making DEJONG a carbon neutral company*. We offset our residual emissions by investing in a Gold Standard-certified project that facilitates sustainable cookstoves in Africa. DEJONG is now bringing more comfort to people in need by providing them access to cleaner and cost-efficient cookstoves. This project has a positive impact on the climate, on people’s health, and on social and economic developments.
*This claim is based on DEJONG’s 2022 carbon footprint assessment results. DEJONG’s Scope 1, Scope 2, and some Scope 3 emissions, as defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, were compensated by purchasing Gold Standard Certificates. At this time, these figures have not been independently verified by a third party.
LONG-TERM
RELATIONSHIPS
In addition to a sustainable production, we also work on long-term relationships with our environment. In the collaboration with our partners we consciously select people and companies that have the same sustainability ambitions as we have, so we can join forces and build a better world together.
